The Bigger Picture Photography create highly effective images for business. The Bigger Picture offers top quality images for business. Everything
from brochure, web, press & pr and display images. I have also been
resonsible for rebranding several companies in order to bring their visuals
up to date. It is often neglected by businesses but has become vitally
important as customers can source product and services from an international
marketplace.
I have been involved in graphics and photography since 1976, mostly in
large corporate HQ marketing departments. I took time out to do a Degree
in Photography and then joined Ernst & Young and then Rio Tinto plc
at their Headquarters in London. In both these companies I developed in-house
presentation services to provide secure and fast turnround facilities.
At Rio Tinto I got interested in the internet and designed a company intranet
I have been working on visual websites ever since.
In Ireland, the use of the web seems to be catching on now, despite the
lag caused by a serious lack of high-speed connections outside of the
larger towns. I've found that a new generation are taking over from their
fathers in many companies in Ireland and the young lads are very visually
aware and understand what I'm talking about. They make use of the internet
and know a good site when they see one. I'm finding it easier now as a
result but it was hard work to get established 5 years ago. My own website
is very important for promoting my business and I update it constantly.
I changed the name to the Bigger Picture because Ireland is now a forward-looking,
successful country and doing business here means taking the long, broad
view.
By making full use of the web, I have broadened my own market considerably.
The Hilton Group is just one of the clients I have won through this initiative.
I am currently working for Cupid Productions, a film production company
in England, producing visuals and online materials for a new movie starring
John Hurt, which is in development. Hopefully this will win me more business
in the UK. I can supply most of my work on CD or by email, so technology
has a great impact on my business although I don't mind the odd trip to
London!
My philosophy is simple - deliver the goods on time and to the highest
standard. It's a small enough place and word gets around. I act as a kind
of off-site marketing department and get very involved with my customer's
businesses. My background in London has me well-trained for this and I
have not relaxed my standards, despite the temptations of living in rural
Ireland!
